Synopsis

Coverage of tonight's Uefa Cup third-round, first-leg match from Balaidos Stadium in Spain. Liverpool provided the only success story in an otherwise disastrous Uefa Cup second round for the English clubs. Their passage to the third round was earned with a 2-2 second-leg draw in Valencia that secured an away-goals victory.
