Bobby, spending his first Valentine's Day without Connie, is delighted to check out the singles scene. He returns from school with numerous red carnations from admirers and a white one from Connie. He and Connie have actually managed to stay friends. After Hand and Peggy leave for the evening, Bill stops by and asks Bobby how he is managing without Connie, making the situation awkward when he tells Bobby that he'll never be able to find another woman like Connie. For the first time, Bobby feels miserable and wallows on the couch in his underwear. When Peggy and Hank return home, they demand to know what Bill did to Bobby.
Hank and Peggy try to persuade Bobby to ask a female classmate to a party Joseph is throwing, but he's too busy feeling sorry for himself. He finally asks Connie to go, but she declines. Not knowing what else to do, Hank asks Boomhauer to talk to Bobby. Boomhauer takes him to a department store where he hits on women. Bobby, disgusted with Boomhauer's tactics, meets a girl and realizes he can be lucky with girls again if he acts like himself.
