When Bill suffers a near death experience from the ceiling crashing onto his bed where he would usually be sleeping, he decides to seek out meaning in his life. At church, he joins as many activities as he can deciding that is what God wants him to do. As Bill becomes more involved with the church, Hank realizes that Bill and Reverend Stroup are carrying on a secret relationship. When Reverend Stroup announces their relationship to the church, a majority of the congregation is uncomfortable with their level of affection for one another. Taking a stand, Stroup quits the church and moves in with Bill - unfortunately, Bill really liked the taboo part of the relationship and no longer wants to be dating Stroup. After trying to get Stroup to break up with him, Bill finally does the right thing and ends the relationship.
