If there's one thing witnesses and WitSec inspectors share, it's daddy issues. Or so Mary and Marshall realize when they meet witness Ben Kulpak. Angry with their father for the mistakes that landed him in this mess, his grown kids refuse to come into the program with him. But when Ben winds up in the hospital and the Lithuanian mobsters after him manage to track down his kids, everyone's plans change.
Tom and Cecile agree to join the program and soon arrive in Albuquerque, but unfortunately it's a less than joyous family reunion - in part because there's some deserved resentment on their side for his wrongs as a father, and in part because it turns out that Ben has another secret he's trying to keep from his kids: he's dying.
Now, Mary has to find a way help Tom and Cecile make peace with their father while there's still time - and, ideally, keep him alive long enough to testify. But Ben isn't the only one with a ticking clock: sooner or later, Mary's going to have to address her own issues too. And that means finding a way to put daddy issues on the back burner while she focuses on something completely new and somewhat horrifying - mommy issues.
