Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Nick (David Giuntoli) fall through the ground and land in a catacomb; they've found the church from the map. To locate the treasure, they get into the minds of the crusaders and switch off their flashlights, a modern convenience. The dark reveals seven illuminated skulls embedded in a wall. And behind them is a chest with seven keyholes. Monroe and Nick give it a try, but they need the other two keys. Instead, they decide they'll bring the chest home and pick the locks. But as they exit the church, they run into the priest's search party. On the way to the car, the Ungeziefer Greifer from the church spots them and bites Monroe. Regardless, Nick and Monroe soldier on and manage to get to the car. After slashing the search party's tires, they head straight for the airport, chest safely in hand.

Back in Portland, Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Reggie Lee) search for Dixon's killer, but Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) finds him first. She knocks him out and brings his cell phone to Hadrian's Wall so they can plant a tracker. But her and Meisner's plan is foiled when Lucien tips off Renard (Sasha Roiz) to Marwan's location. When Marwan tries to flee from Renard, Hank and Wu, Renard kills him. Later, while re-watching footage of Dixon's speech, Renard notices that Rachel takes a phone call and looks up shortly before Dixon is shot. He gets the chance to confront her soon after when she shows up at his house. Rachel reveals she's Black Claw and invites Lucien over to reveal their larger plan: they want Renard to run for mayor.

At the same time, Rosalee (Bree Turner) gets a visit from an old acquaintance, Tony. He demands Rosalee give him $5,000 and gets physical with her when she refuses. Adalind (Claire Coffee) comes to Rosalee's aid, but Tony Woges and attacks her. Only he doesn't get the chance to because Adalind's Hexenbiest powers return and take over. She crushes Tony's hand and sends him scurrying from the spice shop.

When Nick and Monroe return, they enlist Hank, Wu and Rosalee to help open the chest. After turning the keys doesn't work, Monroe suggests using Nick's Grimm blood. He is proven correct, as always, and the group comes face to face with the treasure: a stick wrapped in cloth. Disappointed and confused, Nick studies the stick just as Monroe nearly passes out. The gang rallies to help him, but their efforts end up being unnecessary: Monroe's wound heals itself before disappearing altogether. It turns out there's more to the treasure than meets the eye.
