A firestorm of public controversy erupts when a grand jury declines to press charges against Memphis police Officer David Nelson (Deji LaRay), who was accused of shooting and killing an unarmed African-American teenager. Grace (Merle Dandridge) reaches out to Officer Nelson, who has been hiding away in a hotel room, while Basie Skanks (guest star Jason Dirden), a rival pastor from the other side of town, uses the opportunity to needle Calvary over their support of the police.
Meanwhile, Grace works closely with Noah (Ben Patterson) on a new plan to uncover evidence against Mac (Gregory Alan Williams). After copying the contents of Mac's hard drive, she finally finds the silver bullet that could take him down once and for all.
Noah evades Lady Mae's (Lynn Whitfield) questions about what Grace is up to, causing her to suspect that Grace and Noah may be rekindling their former intimacy--and she's right. While Isabel is away for the evening, Grace stops by Noah's house for consolation. Eventually, conversation gives way to passion. Early the next morning, Grace tries to sneak back into the Greenleaf mansion, but when she gets home, Lady Mae is up waiting, and she's not happy.
Elsewhere, Jacob (Lamman Rucker) presents his plan to get the Bishop (Keith David) a broadcast TV deal, leading Lady Mae to encourage her husband to reveal to his family and congregation a secret medical condition that explains why he refuses to speak on TV.
Finally, Grace persuades Officer Nelson to reconsider his plan to relocate to Delaware. As he approaches Grace to share the good news, the brother of the teenager he killed rushes up, pulls out a gun and shoots him dead, leaving Grace shocked and horrified.
