As a favor to her mother, Alicia represents a group of programmers against a software company that's threatening to fire any of its workers who are unwilling to sign their draconian employment contract. One of the employees recently died as a result of the company's working conditions, and Alicia works with the widow and her co-workers to build a case. Things go downhill quickly, however, when the CEO fires all of the employees represented by Alicia and brings in Nancy Crozier as defense counsel. In order to save her clients' jobs, Alicia must help the engineers form a union - an act that doesn't sit well with Lockhart/Gardner's named partners. Peter asks Alicia to formally re-commit to him, and she is torn. She does give him a needed boost in the polls, however, when she goes on the offensive against Krestiva in a television interview. After hearing about Alicia's case, the assistants at Lockhart/Gardner consider forming their own union if the partner's don't do something about their pay and working conditions. Kalinda learns that Robyn is more of a mystery than she had previously thought.
