The Good Wife Episode 4.02 And the Law Won

It's Will's first day back on the job, and he's leading a wrongful death case against a police officer accused of tasering a man to death during a protest riot. At first, Lockhart/Gardner's victory seems inevitable, but when an unknown jury member starts slipping questions to the judge--something now allowed due to the passage of a new law--Will's case begins to falter. With Kalinda off her game thanks to the re-appearance of her husband, Will and Alicia must find a way to win the case while stemming the continuous questions from the jury.

Alicia finds herself caught between two worlds as Diane asks her to speak with Maddie Hayward, a feminist financier who now owns most of their building, about re-structuring their lease. But while Maddie isn't interested in helping Lockhart/Gardner, she does take a personal liking to Alicia and decides to support Peter's campaign. Meanwhile, trustee Clark Hayden has begun making layoffs, and Alicia finds that her opinions might hold a little too much weight with the enigmatic Hayden.
