With the Save Greendale Committee having accomplished nearly all of its goals, Greendale is on the track to success. The group's journey is not quite over, though. Dean Pelton gets a visit from the school board guys, who inform him that an insurance appraiser is coming to Greendale to determine if the property should be closed down for good. If the school isn't completely up to code, it could be the end of Greendale Community College.

Jeff assures the committee that Greendale will be fine, but Abed wants to devise an elaborate ruse to win over the appraiser. When Jeff tells Abed that a story doesn't need to be created, Abed decides that the lack of story is the story - but is it?

The committee members distribute a few menial tasks to be absolutely sure that the school is up to standards before the inspection, but Greendale seems to be in good shape. Later that morning, the staunch insurance appraiser arrives and begins his inspection. At the end of his appraisal, and after an unsuccessful attempt to kill himself with a vending machine, the insurance man informs the committee and the school board guys that Greendale is actually a property asset - the school is actually valuable!

Ignoring the protests of the committee, the school board members immediately hatch a plan to sell Greendale to a corporation. Abed arrives a moment too late to announce that Greendale is officially story-free, which is clearly not the case. It seems that, by saving Greendale, the Save Greendale Committee has actually doomed Greendale.

The school board members sell Greendale to Subway, which turns the campus into a Sandwich University. As the campus is retrofitted with Subway paraphernalia, the students and faculty struggle to accept that Greendale is no more. While helping the Dean pack up his office, Annie and Abed discover something interesting in his office: a photo featuring the first Dean of Greendale which contains a hidden message that could change everything!

Meanwhile, Jeff and Britta share one last heart-to-heart about their future plans. Subway has offered Jeff a job teaching sandwich law, and Britta will probably go back to bartending. In a moment of spontaneous realization, Jeff proposes to Britta and she accepts. They're getting hastily married! Before they can "christen" their decision on the new study room table, the Dean, Abed and Annie barge in with a huge announcement: there's buried treasure hidden somewhere on the Greendale campus! The money could save Greendale from the clutches of Subway once and for all!
