Willow Smith Teams Up With DJ Jazzy Jeff for Her Album
Music

DJ Jazzy Jeff, who is Will Smith's partner at DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, reveals he is working on some tracks for the young singer.

AceShowbiz - Will Smith's pre-teen pop sensation daughter Willow Smith is keeping the collaborators for her debut album close to home - she's working with her father's former hip-hop partner DJ Jazzy Jeff. Willow Smith set the charts alight last year with her single "Whip My Hair" and she's currently recording tracks for her as-yet-untitled debut album after signing to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label.

And she's taking her family's entertainment business full circle by teaming up with the DJ/producer - 25 years after he launched DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince with Will. Rapper Skillz has been recruited to write lyrics to Jeff's beats and he reveals he has his own history with Smith Sr.

He tells BET.com, "Me and Jazzy Jeff are... working on some stuff for Willow Smith's album. I worked with her dad on a few projects before so you know I have a relationship with him. It was just a natural progression, like, they're doing music so, you know, that door's always open. I'd be crazy not to try to walk through it, so we're working on some stuff."

Willow, 10, also has her eye on another piece of her father's music history - she recently admitted she'd love to record a new version of DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's 1988 hit single "Parents Just Don't Understand". She said, "It's a really great song."
