Befriending the soccer ace, Cruise said he's been persuading Beckham to act in a movie because he 'got the looks'.

AceShowbiz - Tom Cruise is trying to convince David Beckham to break into the movie industry - because his pal has "got the looks" to be a Hollywood actor. The "Top Gun" star has been close friends with the soccer player and his wife Victoria since they met in 2003.
And Cruise is keen for Beckham to swap sport for acting, because he's adamant the sportsman will look great in front of the camera. He says, "I've been encouraging him to become an actor. He's got the looks, he's got everything. He'd be terrific."
Cruise is currently in London, England to promote his latest movie "Knight & Day" with Cameron Diaz. Later this Sunday, he will appear on British show "Top Gears", battling his co-star on the race track.
