AceShowbiz - Enrique Iglesias' attorneys have filed legal papers in a bid to clear the singer over a 2007 car accident which left an 11-year-old girl injured. The "Hero" hitmaker has been targeted in a damages lawsuit which accuses his manager of running over the foot of a young autograph hunter as the pair drove away from a California radio station in 2007.
The suit was filed by the child's mother last May and seeks $25,000 in damages. But Iglesias' legal team has fought back by filing papers claiming the blame lies with the child's mother, who should have done more to protect her daughter.
The papers insist Iglesias should not be held responsible and the girl's mother should be ordered to pay the damages, according to TMZ.com.
