The 'Robin Hood' actor helps a fan hitting a target which won her a trip to the London Premiere of his movie.

AceShowbiz - Russell Crowe showed off his archery skills on U.S. TV on Thursday, April 22 in a bid to promote his new "Robin Hood" movie. The actor agreed to help a fan win a trip to the London premiere of his new film during pal Ellen DeGeneres' daily TV show - and brought along "a prop bow" from the set of the movie, in which he plays the medieval hero.

Crowe coached the fan, named Cara, and helped her hit a target, which won her the prize. The actor revealed he was supposed to appear on the show from London via Skype - but Europe's volcano ash storm kept him from making the trip.

The actor had to postpone a string of U.K. TV appearances when all planes to and from Europe were grounded because of the Iceland volcano eruption. DeGeneres explained, "Here's what was supposed to happen; we were gonna talk to you from London... but you couldn't make it, could you?"

Crowe explained, "Unless I was prepared to swim... The whole schedule got blown up in a cloud of volcanic ash."
