AceShowbiz - "Shakespeare in Love" star Joseph Fiennes is a first-time father after welcoming a daughter. The actor's wife, Swiss model Maria Dolores Dieguez, gave birth to a little girl on Monday, March 8, reports People.com. Fiennes, whose brother is actor Ralph, wed the former Miss Switzerland beauty pageant contestant in Tuscany, Italy last summer, before announcing the pregnancy in the fall.

The couple reportedly is thrilled with the new arrival. Fiennes himself has six siblings, including a twin brother named Jacob. When asked whether he is often mistaken with his brother, the actor said, "I wish! No. I guess because there aren't too many of us so it's not like a clan of five brothers or more like the Baldwin brothers, which would get quite confusing."

Joseph Fiennes is currently starring as Agent Mark Benford in ABC's "FlashForward" and will appear opposite Elle Fanning, Malcolm McDowell and Neve Campbell in the upcoming film "Vivaldi.
