Although Kelis has smashed PETA by calling the boss 'batty' hypocrite, the singer has been encouraged once again by the animal rights organization to shun furs.

AceShowbiz - Officials at PETA have urged Kelis to follow in the footsteps of Pink and Charlize Theron by shunning fur, following her scathing criticism of the animal rights organization last week. The R&B star wrote an open letter blasting bosses at People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals after they encouraged her to ditch her favored furs.
Addressing her fondness for animal coats, Kelis wrote, "It's not just the look of fur. It's warm as hell and feels glorious, ever rubbed faux fur on your body? Nothing luxurious about that." The "Milkshake" hitmaker also dubbed PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk a "batty" hypocrite - but chiefs at the organization are still determined to make Kelis give up animal pelts.
In an open letter, one PETA boss writes, "We've been inundated with phone calls and emails from folks alerting us to photos of you wearing a fur hat and coat while out in London over the weekend. Please know that animals killed for their fur endure immense suffering. Foxes, minks, coyotes, and rabbits - and even dogs and cats - are bludgeoned, strangled, genitally electrocuted, and even skinned alive for their pelts."
