Takeoff’s estate seeks sanctions against his accuser, claiming she deleted key text messages in the late rapper’s civil rape lawsuit.

AceShowbiz - The estate of Takeoff is accusing the woman who filed a civil lawsuit against the late rapper of deleting text messages that could serve as crucial evidence in their defense.
According to a recent report from MyNewsLA, the estate has submitted a motion requesting a judge to impose terminating sanctions against the accuser, identified only as Jane Doe. This motion followed an October deposition where Doe reportedly admitted to deleting text messages relevant to the case after initiating the lawsuit.
The lawsuit stems from allegations made in 2020, when Doe accused the former Migos member of raping her at a party in Encino, California. Although prosecutors declined to press criminal charges, Doe proceeded with a civil suit against Takeoff later that year. The rapper’s estate contends that these missing messages could have been vital to their defense strategy.
Further supporting the estate’s claim, the court filing cites testimony from one of Doe’s friends. This friend reportedly stated that the allegations against Takeoff were fabricated with assistance from other friends Doe communicated with via text. The estate’s legal team argues that the deleted messages could have shed light on these communications.
Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was tragically shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley on November 1, 2022. Despite his passing, the civil case has continued against his estate.
If the judge grants the estate’s request for terminating sanctions, it could result in a default judgment against the accuser, effectively ending the case in the estate’s favor. A hearing on this motion is scheduled for January 26, 2027.
Requests for comment from Takeoff’s attorney have not yet been returned. The case remains a significant legal matter following the rapper’s untimely death.
