AceShowbiz - Matty Matheson has come to the defense of Guy Fieri, calling the Food Network star "a real American hero" and a bigger mensch than Jeremy Allen White during an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show.
"People hate this guy and he's successful," Matheson said of Fieri. "And during the fires in LA he raised millions of dollars for people. He went and fed people dude."
Instead of "punching down" with Fieri jokes, Matheson suggested focusing on the real problem. "I'd like to take this opportunity to say that Jeremy Allen White loves splitting bills," he said.
Matheson and host Adam Friedland agreed that this behavior is disgusting, "a sick culture."
"What pisses me off is that I always have to take the high road," Matheson added.
Elsewhere in the episode, Matheson shared his ideal death row meal. "A chilled fresh lobster, some caviar, French fries, a filet with au poivre sauce… or just the best chicken wings ever and just shoot me," he said.
Friedland also reflected on courting women with a $7 Bolognese. "I used to tell girls when I didn't have money for a restaurant or bar, I'd say, 'Let me cook you dinner.' I had a meal that I'd price down to like $7," he recalled.
"You've done this multiple times? There's a handful of women that had a delicious turkey bolognese?" Matheson asked.
"I miss all of them, and I hope they're doing well," Friedland replied.
The conversation then turned to bacon slander and soup rankings. "I don't put bacon on the burger. I've never done that. I think that bacon on burgers is stupid," Matheson declared.
"Ramen is bullshit, right?" Friedland said. "Pho is a much better soup."
"I could eat pho ga every single day," Matheson responded.
"Rose VL in Portland, Oregon is the best bowl of soup I've ever had in my life," Friedland added.
