AceShowbiz - Anthony Roux and Ankama are bringing the 2016 animated fantasy feature DOFUS – Book I: Julith to YouTube for free worldwide, with the film set to go live on October 16, 2026 at 11 Am Pt / 2 Pm Et. The release also launches the studio's new Krosmoz YouTube channel and arrives with a newly recorded English dub, alongside new Spanish and Portuguese dubs and the original French version.
The film, a 108-minute 2D animated action-adventure fantasy aimed at viewers 6 and up, originally released in French theaters in 2016. It follows Joris, a young boy living in the city of Bonta with his adoptive father, an old cat-like man named Kerub Crepin, whose peaceful life takes an unexpected turn when he disobeys his father to meet his idol, gobbowl megastar Khan Karkass. Its themes include good versus evil, heroism and sacrifice, and family relationships.

The new English dub features voice talent drawn from anime, animation and video games. Rosana Smith, known to WAKFU fans as the English voice of Evangelyne in Season 4, voices Joris. Chuck Huber, known for voicing Android 17 and Pilaf in Dragon Ball, plays Dardondakal. Kyle Phillips, known for Denki Kaminari in My Hero Academia and Marco in One Piece, voices Khan Karkass. Sara Secora, whose video game credits include Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Warframe, plays Julith. Christina Costello, the voice of Collei in Genshin Impact, voices Lilotte, and Crystal Lopez, the English voice of Yugo in WAKFU Season 4, plays Bakara.
The Krosmoz channel takes its name from Ankama's shared fantasy universe, which spans DOFUS, WAKFU and other properties across video games, animation and publishing. According to the studio, Krosmoz is designed as a bridge between animation and games, where stories and gameplay feed into each other, whether audiences come to Ankama's worlds as viewers, players or both.
"At Ankama, games and animation have never lived in separate worlds. Krosmoz is our way of bringing that philosophy to a global audience: you can watch a story, explore its universe, follow a clue and take something from that experience back into the game," Roux, CEO of Ankama and co-director and co-writer of the film, said in the announcement. "Making DOFUS – Book I: Julith freely available worldwide is the perfect way to open that door. For people who already know us, it is a new home for the worlds they have loved for years. For everyone else, it is an invitation to discover them."

Viewers who watch the film can claim the Lilotte's Bell ceremonial headgear, inspired by Lilotte, in the Mmorpg Dofus. The code is available directly in the film's YouTube description and can be redeemed in both DOFUS on PC and DOFUS Touch on mobile. Future releases on Krosmoz will go further, with treasure hunts built around clues and in-game rewards.
The film serves as a prequel to Welsh & Shedar, Ankama Animations' new animated series set 30 years after the events of the movie. After its launch in Japan, Welsh & Shedar will begin airing in the rest of the world in November.
