AceShowbiz - The family of Drakeo The Ruler has reportedly reached a settlement with Live Nation and other defendants in a wrongful death lawsuit related to the rapper’s tragic death.
On October 14, 2026, TMZ reported that the estate of Drakeo The Ruler has agreed to an undisclosed resolution with Live Nation, Hollywood Elite Security, Inc., Black Tide Events, LLC, and additional parties involved. According to the report, the settlement includes specific terms that must be fulfilled within 45 days. XXL has contacted Live Nation for an official statement.
Drakeo The Ruler was fatally stabbed during a backstage altercation at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. Festival in 2021. Following the incident, his brother filed a lawsuit in 2022 against the festival’s promoters, accusing them of negligence and failure to ensure the safety of attendees and performers. Initially, rapper Snoop Dogg, one of the event’s headliners, was named as a defendant, but he successfully defended himself and was removed from the lawsuit.
The murder of Drakeo The Ruler remains unsolved. However, in July 2026, rapper YG was taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into Drakeo’s death. Despite persistent rumors linking YG to the murder, he has consistently denied any involvement. He addressed the speculation in his song “We Know the Truth,” where he dismisses the allegations.
As of now, YG has not been formally charged or arrested in connection with the killing of Drakeo The Ruler. The investigation continues while the family moves forward with the legal settlement.
This development marks a significant step in the aftermath of Drakeo The Ruler’s untimely passing, as the estate resolves its legal battles with event organizers and security firms related to the fatal incident.
