AceShowbiz - Sylvester Stallone's Oscar-winning classic Rocky is marking its 50th anniversary with a limited-edition 2-disc 4K UHD and Blu-ray SteelBook release. Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Home Entertainment will release the collectible edition on December 15, 2026, packaged with a keepsake mini-poster.

Written by and starring Stallone and directed by John G. Avildsen, Rocky remains one of cinema's most enduring underdog stories. The film follows struggling Philadelphia club fighter Rocky Balboa, who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot at the heavyweight title and the chance to fight for love, glory and self-respect.

The 1976 film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and won three, including Best Picture, Directing and Film Editing. It earned approximately $225 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of 1976. The ensemble cast also features Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers and Burgess Meredith.

The 4K UHD disc includes three commentaries featuring Stallone, members of the cast and filmmakers, and renowned boxing experts. The Blu-ray offers more than three hours of additional bonus content, including archival 8mm home movies of Rocky from 1975, a three-part making-of documentary, and behind-the-scenes featurettes exploring the film's music, makeup, directing and camera work.

The anniversary edition arrives in premium SteelBook packaging with a souvenir mini-poster, bringing the film to 4K UHD and Blu-ray in a release built around the milestone. Alliance Home Entertainment, a division of Alliance Entertainment, is handling the release as a licensing and distribution partner for film and television content across North America.
