The project serves as the official soundtrack to the upcoming sci-fi psychological thriller of the same name, with each song woven throughout the film's narrative, creating an immersive fusion of music and cinema. The release also marks a major milestone in Ann's artistic evolution as she makes her feature film acting debut in a supporting role as Morgan.

Set for theatrical release this October following a successful festival run in late 2025, Orion stars Andrew McCarthy, Drew Van Acker, and Debby Ryan. The film follows a NASA interrogator tasked with helping an amnesiac astronaut piece together his memories after a catastrophic crash landing leaves the rest of his crew dead. As buried memories begin to surface, the story unfolds into a gripping psychological mystery exploring truth, identity, memory, and what it truly means to be human, anchored by intimate performances rather than spectacle.

Ann's Orion EP serves as the emotional backbone of the film, with her cinematic songwriting underscoring its most pivotal moments. Rich in atmosphere and emotional depth, the collection reflects the same themes of identity, memory, loss, and connection that drive the film, making the collaboration a natural extension of her storytelling. Her performance as Morgan further expands her creative reach, showcasing the same emotional honesty that has defined her work as a songwriter. The Orion EP builds on the momentum of Ann's recent singles, including "all my money," a deeply personal, folk-inspired reflection on impermanence, belonging, and the fleeting connections that shape us. Produced by Benjamin Lazar Davis and co-produced by Ann, the song was written alongside Davis and Harrison Whitford, further showcasing the stripped-back vulnerability and Americana influences that define her evolving sound. It follows "i was never yours," co-written with Suki Waterhouse, Whitford, Davis, and Chelsea Balan, which marked the beginning of Ann's creative shift toward Americana and reached the Top 35 on Billboard's AAA Airplay chart while earning widespread support across AAA radio in the United States. Ann has cemented herself in music history with the track, becoming the first Slovakian-born artist to reach a Billboard chart.

Ann first emerged as one of alternative music's most compelling new voices with her debut album, through the telescope. Praised by NME as "a confident and unflinching debut," the album explored themes of identity, mental health, LGBTQ+ experiences, and human connection through deeply personal songwriting and cinematic production.

Her creative vision has long extended beyond music. In 2023, her interconnected music videos for "a stranger with my face" and "favorite star," directed by the award-winning duo TUSK and starring Ashley Moore and Gus Kenworthy, received Best Music Video honors at the Top Shorts Film Festival. She later reunited with TUSK for the visually striking "i don't believe in God" video, featuring a guest appearance by Imogen Heap.
