AceShowbiz - The long-running rivalry between 50 Cent and Rick Ross has reignited, with the former claiming the latter's career is finished following disappointing album sales. The latest exchange began when 50 Cent reacted to news that Ross's Set in Stone album sold approximately 20,000 copies for the second consecutive week.
"LOL ? I'M SORRY ITS OVER, CANT FAKE IT FOREVER!" 50 Cent wrote on social media, directly mocking his longtime adversary's commercial performance. The jab came just days after Ross released his latest project on July 17.
However, Ross was quick to respond, taking to his Instagram Story to defend the numbers. The Miami rapper framed his sales figures as a legitimate victory, arguing that he achieved them without artificial inflation. Ross specifically called out the use of bots in the music industry, suggesting that other artists who show dramatic sales drops are actually seeing their inflated numbers corrected.
"Those drastic fall-offs that you see with a lot of those other artists is when the numbers are inflated. The bots. To me, the new flex is not bots," Ross stated in his response. He emphasized a long-term approach to his career, noting his longevity in the industry: "Do the long game, baby. That's how we hustling. That's how we winning. We here 20 years later."
Ross didn't stop there, taking direct shots at 50 Cent's business ventures and former group members. He sarcastically suggested that 50 Cent should give Lloyd Banks his own high-top sneaker line, referencing the G-Unit sneakers and questioning the status of 50 Cent's Shreveport project. "Those G-Unit sneakers gon' be at Costcos, baby," Ross quipped.
This latest exchange is part of an ongoing pattern of trolling from 50 Cent, who began mocking Ross shortly after the album's release. Initially, 50 Cent claimed Ross had only moved 2,000 units before the official first-week numbers showed sales of 19,000 copies. Ross subsequently clapped back at the time, questioning 50 Cent about borrowed money in Shreveport and demanding he repay the people there.
Despite the underwhelming commercial performance, Ross remains defiant, declaring Set in Stone the album of the year. The back-and-forth between the two rap heavyweights shows no signs of cooling down, with both artists using social media to keep their feud firmly in the public eye.
