AceShowbiz - Synapse Films has announced the Blu-ray release of director Nick Castle's cult classic T.A.G.: The Assassination Game, set to arrive on September 8. The 1982 film, which stars Robert Carradine, Linda Hamilton, and Forest Whitaker, follows a college newspaper reporter investigating a campus game that turns deadly.

In the film, Carradine plays Alex Marsh, a reporter who looks into the latest campus craze after Susan Swayze (Hamilton) takes refuge in his dorm room during a game of T.A.G. The game allows students to sneak around campus and “shoot” assigned targets with suction-cup dart guns. Alex thinks he's writing a fun feature article, but the story turns into a true-crime report when one player brings a real gun into the game.

The cast also includes Kristine DeBell, Perry Lang, John Mengatti, Michael Winslow, Xander Berkeley, Bruce Abbott, and Whitaker. Castle, best known for playing the original Michael Myers in John Carpenter's Halloween and for directing The Last Starfighter, made his directorial debut with this film.

“We are thrilled to bring T.A.G.: The Assassination Game to Blu-ray for the first time,” said Synapse Films co-founder Don May Jr.. “This film has been a fan favorite for decades, and we’ve worked hard to give it the high-definition treatment it deserves.”

The Blu-ray release marks the film's home video debut in high definition. A trailer has been released showcasing the film's blend of teen comedy and suspense.

Synapse Films is known for restoring and releasing cult and horror classics on Blu-ray. The company previously released titles such as The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue and The Blood Spattered Bride.
