AceShowbiz - Clipse claimed the Album of the Year award at the 2026 BET Awards for their critically acclaimed album Let God Sort Em Out, which was released in July 2025. This victory marked one of three wins for the hip-hop duo at the ceremony, highlighting their remarkable return to the spotlight.
Alongside Album of the Year, Clipse also earned Best Group and Best Collaboration honors for the track "Chains & Whips," a standout cut featuring Kendrick Lamar. The duo’s success at the BETs came shortly after they secured their first Grammy for Best Rap Performance earlier in 2026 with the same song. Kendrick Lamar, who won Best Male Hip-Hop Artist for the ninth time, expressed respect for Clipse during his Grammy acceptance speech. Meanwhile, Cardi B took home Best Female Hip Hop Artist, her first in this category since 2019.
Clipse is a Virginia Beach-based hip-hop duo known for their influential 2002 single "Grindin'." After a 15-year hiatus, Pusha T and Malice reunited to create Let God Sort Em Out, an album produced solely by Pharrell Williams. Malice stepped away from rap in 2010 to focus on his faith but was persuaded to return following a conversation with their late father. The album’s release required them to leave Def Jam and sign with Roc Nation due to label conflicts over Kendrick Lamar’s verse on "Chains & Whips."
The recognition at the BET Awards underscores the impact of Clipse’s comeback, affirming the duo’s enduring influence and the album’s resonance with both fans and industry voters. Their win signals a powerful moment for hip-hop, celebrating artistic reunions and creative risks that have reignited excitement around their legacy.
