AceShowbiz - Marvel is launching a new one-shot comic titled Gold ’76 #1, featuring Bullseye as the main character. The story centers on Bullseye’s mission, hired by Thanos to assassinate a critical figure in the universe, setting the stage for a high-stakes encounter in New York City.
During his assignment, Bullseye crosses paths with cosmic-powered heroes Star-Lord, Nova, and Jack of Hearts as they attempt to thwart his plans. This unique team-up celebrates the 50th anniversary of these characters, all of whom made their first appearances in 1976, highlighting Marvel’s rich legacy from that era.
Writer Stephanie Phillips, known for her work on Daredevil, crafted the script for this special issue, while Madibek Musabekov, recognized for his art on Star Wars: Shadow of Maul, brings the visuals to life. Editor Mark Paniccia has described the combination of these characters as an unusual but exciting mix that offers fresh storytelling potential.
Bullseye first appeared in Daredevil #131, created by Marv Wolfman and Bob Brown. Star-Lord, aka Peter Quill, debuted in Marvel Preview #4, while Nova (Richard Rider) was introduced in Nova #1. Jack of Hearts, or Jack Hart, made his entrance in The Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu #22. All four heroes and antiheroes share 1976 as their debut year, making this comic a commemorative tribute.
The announcement drew excitement as it revives Bullseye’s prominence in Marvel’s storytelling, placing him in a central role against cosmic adversaries. This release not only honors a milestone for these characters but also promises fresh interactions and conflicts that could resonate with longtime fans and new readers alike.
