AceShowbiz - Emily in Paris is officially coming to an end. Netflix has confirmed that the romantic dramedy series, which first premiered in 2020, will conclude with its upcoming sixth season. The streaming service shared a video announcement featuring star Lily Collins, who looked directly into the camera and revealed the news to fans.

"After six unforgettable years of playing Emily Cooper, I'm here to share that this upcoming sixth season will be our final," Collins said in the video. She went on to promise that the sixth season will include everything audiences love about the series. The actor explained that the entire cast and crew are "pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season." Collins also revealed that production is currently underway on Emily in Paris season 6 in Greece, with additional filming locations set for Monaco and Paris. She added that she and everyone involved with the series are "incredibly grateful" to the viewers for their support over the years.

Darren Star, the creator, executive producer, and writer of Emily in Paris, also issued a statement expressing his gratitude. He thanked Netflix, Paramount, and "the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us." Star said he "can't wait" for the final season to be released so that fans can see how Emily's story ends. He concluded by thanking viewers for "letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris."

"Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. Star said in his full statement.

Before creating Emily in Paris, Star had created multiple iconic series like Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, and Sex and the City. Netflix premiered Emily in Paris in 2020, with Collins playing a marketing executive who uproots her life in the United States to move to Paris for a new job at a marketing firm. She finds that it is not just her professional life that has changed; her friendships and love life go through various evolutions across the entire series.

Emily in Paris season 5, released in December 2025, sees the protagonist head back to Paris after ending her relationship with Marcello. Gabriel then invites Emily to Greece, paving the way for another epic location for the series to head to in season 6 after filming in countries like France and Italy. Collins' co-stars include Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Arnaud Binard, Paul Forman, Eugenio Franceschini, Thalia Besson, Raoul Bova, and Anna Galiena.

When Emily in Paris began, it received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics. The series earned a 61% Rotten Tomatoes score for season 1 and 58% for season 2. The reception turned far more positive after that, with the next two seasons earning scores of almost 70%. The most recent installment became the first season to be Certified Fresh on the popular website, with a score of 70%.

At the Golden Globes, the show earned nominations for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy and Best Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy, the latter for Collins. Meanwhile, the Emmys nominated Emily in Paris for Outstanding Comedy Series. A release date for Emily in Paris' final season has not been announced yet.
