AceShowbiz - Lily May B is set to star Jenna Ortega in its lead role as the film prepares for production in spring 2027. The movie marks the seventh feature from acclaimed director Leos Carax.
The official synopsis describes the story as a journey of three young individuals—a little girl, a young woman, and a young boy—each burdened by a heavy secret. They come together in an apocalyptic-like world and travel on a large motorcycle through empty cities, deserted highways, and ancient forests. Their expedition is fraught with dangers, yet they persist in search of identity and a place to belong.
"Once upon a time, this is what destroyed us, and this is what kept us alive," Carax said, offering a glimpse into the film's enigmatic tone.
The production is being overseen by Hugo Sélignac under the Mediawan company’s Chi-Fou-Mi Productions banner. Speaking about the collaboration, Sélignac expressed his admiration for Carax, calling him one of the reasons he fell in love with cinema and praising the film for its raw emotion, unique vision, and visual intensity. He also highlighted how naturally the director’s universe aligns with Ortega’s talent.
Sélignac mentioned that the full ensemble cast would be announced in September, building anticipation for the project.
Chi-Fou-Mi Productions is currently competing at Cannes with Jeanne Herry’s film Another Day (Garance), showcasing the company’s active involvement in international cinema.
Jenna Ortega is represented by CAA, Jeff Hynick, and Viewpoint, ensuring she has strong industry support as she embarks on this new project with Leos Carax.
This collaboration between a visionary director and a rising star is generating excitement among cinephiles awaiting the film’s shoot next year and eventual release.
