Despite the anonymity, Chuyin has rapidly become one of the most talked-about new voices in música mexicana. Since signing with Street Mob Records—the label led by Fuerza Regida frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz—in 2023, he has captivated audiences with a unique blend of humor, danger, and impishness backed by traditional guitar arrangements. Fans speculate endlessly on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram about who might be behind the mask, especially since Ortiz Paz and his circle of friends are often photographed together, sparking theories about Chuyin’s true identity.

Yet, if anyone is going to speak about Chuyin, it won’t be him. Throughout the entire interview, he remains firmly in character—a reckless, alcohol-loving three-year-old troublemaker whose main goal is to have fun. The persona is part comedy sketch, part performance art, and Chuyin never strays from the role he has created.

This commitment extends deeply into his music. His debut album, Los Locos Nunca Mueren, features 16 tracks that chronicle a life filled with late-night adventures and risky escapades. The album’s rollout was theatrical in itself: for weeks leading up to its release, Chuyin posted updates claiming he was stuck in rehab due to excessive partying, sending messages from inside a giant white box. When we spoke, he joked, "They let me out just for this interview. As soon as we’re done talking, I have to go back in."

Despite the theatrics, the music itself is genuine and well-crafted. The album includes collaborations with prominent figures in música mexicana, such as Luis R Conriquez, Oscar Maydon, and Fuerza Regida. Notably, the track "Pues Ya Ni Pedo" features Fuerza Regida’s tololoche player Moisés López singing for the first time on a recording.

For Chuyin, this project is more than just a gimmick. It is a way to prove that he is a serious artist and songwriter, not simply a masked figure. "This taught me to introduce myself to the world and show I’m not just one thing. I think people see the mask and they’re like, ‘Oh, this is a fake artist, this is all fabricated.’ So this was my chance to show that I’m a songwriter, I’m an artist, and the music is real."

"Rehabilitado"

This track serves as an update for Chuyin’s fans, essentially telling them, "This is what life is like lately." Despite the title meaning “Rehabilitated,” the song’s opening lines reveal that he’s far from reformed. This song was one of the earliest written for the album, dating back about a year and a half. When beginning the album’s creative process, Chuyin and his songwriting partner revisited their WhatsApp messages and found this piece at the very start of their conversation history. Though it had a different name originally, it was clear it belonged on the record. The track sets the tone for the album by showcasing Chuyin’s troublemaker side.

Chuyin describes his songwriting process as spontaneous and collaborative: after shows, he visits friends and fellow musicians in their hotel rooms to jam and write. "I’ll just drop in and bam, we start writing," he says. This approach has helped him build a large catalog of songs.

"Casaditas"

This song continues the story from "Rehabilitado," confirming that Chuyin remains far from rehabilitated. Here, he confesses his attraction to married women, reinforcing his image as a danger-seeker who thrives on forbidden thrills. The song reflects how despite claiming to change, Chuyin remains the same wild character. The album later reveals the consequences of living such a risky lifestyle.

"Amanecido Y Regañado"

Chuyin recalls the day this song was written as particularly memorable. After a successful interview with content creator Julio Ørozco, he and his friend Jorsshh were invited to party but chose instead to write music. That night produced two songs, including "Amanecido Y Regañado," which has become a standout track on the album, and "Mañoso," a single released earlier that is gaining popularity. He describes the day as magical due to the creative flow that resulted in material for the album.
