AceShowbiz - From Ashes to New has reached a major milestone by claiming their first No. 1 position on a Billboard radio chart with their track Drag Me.
The Pennsylvania-based rock band climbed to the top spot on the May 16-dated Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, marking a significant achievement in their career. This breakthrough comes with their 13th appearance on the survey, showcasing their steady presence in the rock music scene.
From Ashes to New first made their impact on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in 2016 with Through It All, which reached No. 6 and was their initial entry into the chart’s top 10. Since then, they have scored seven top 10 hits. Before Drag Me, their highest charting single was Barely Breathing, a collaboration featuring Against the Current, which peaked at No. 2 earlier this year.
In 2026, six different acts have reached No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart for the first time, reflecting a dynamic year for new chart leaders. The previous week’s No. 1, Dayseeker’s Crawl Back to My Coffin, was replaced by Drag Me, ending its brief reign.
Alongside topping the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, Drag Me also made a notable jump on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, moving from No. 24 to No. 17. This chart is based on audience impressions across rock and alternative radio stations, and the song earned 2.2 million impressions for the week ending May 7, reflecting a 17% increase. This marks the band’s highest position on this all-rock format chart, surpassing the No. 20 peak of Barely Breathing.
The single also reached a new high of No. 20 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart dated May 9, which measures various data points including streaming and sales. During the tracking week of April 24-30, Drag Me accumulated 344,000 eligible streams in the United States, contributing to its strong chart performance.
Drag Me is featured on From Ashes to New’s fifth studio album, Reflections, which was released on April 17. The album has earned 19,000 equivalent album units so far, indicating solid commercial reception alongside the success of its lead single.
Billboard will update all charts dated May 16 on Tuesday, May 12, providing the latest rankings and insights into the evolving rock music landscape.
