AceShowbiz - Fightland is an upcoming gritty boxing crime drama executive produced by 50 Cent, set to debut on Starz on July 31. This marks the network’s first fully owned original series since its separation from Lionsgate, highlighting Starz’s dedication to developing its own exclusive content.
The series centers on Duke Kilroy, a once-celebrated heavyweight boxing champion whose life unravels following the brutal murder of his brother, Calvin. After snapping under the pressure, Duke ends up spending eight years imprisoned in the United States. Upon release, his sole focus is revenge.
According to Variety, Duke returns to London intent on confronting Kingsley Marshall, his former promoter and a powerful criminal kingpin, whom he believes orchestrated his downfall. The storyline weaves themes of betrayal, loyalty, and the high stakes of vengeance within the London boxing underworld.
The cast boasts strong talents including Nicholas Pinnock as Kingsley Marshall, Deborah Ayorinde as Joy, along with Charles Babalola, Tahirah Sharif, Tyler Conti, and Anita-Joy Uwajeh. Their performances are expected to bring depth to the show’s complex world of power and crime.
The production is a collaboration between 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & Television and Expanded Media. This is 50 Cent’s first international production under the G-Unit banner, signaling his confidence in telling a compelling story set in the UK’s boxing scene.
Fightland will be available on the Starz app and all associated streaming platforms, allowing subscribers easy access to new episodes released weekly every Friday.
