AceShowbiz - The upcoming 2026 American Music Awards is shaping up to be a star-studded event with several exciting performers confirmed. Most recently, Hootie & the Blowfish, Keith Urban, Maluma, Riley Green, and sombr were added to the roster of artists set to take the stage.
These new additions join previously announced acts including KATSEYE, Twenty One Pilots, and Teddy Swims, all revealed via social media announcements by the organizers.
The show will be hosted by the acclaimed Queen Latifah, who returns to the American Music Awards as host for the first time since 1995. She has a longstanding connection with the AMAs, having co-hosted alongside Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan over three decades ago.
The 52nd American Music Awards will be broadcast live nationwide on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026. The event takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with a scheduled start time of 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
This year marks the second consecutive AMA broadcast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+, continuing the new tradition following a 2½-year hiatus. Notably, it is also the second time the awards will be held in Las Vegas, instead of their traditional Los Angeles location, where all previous AMAs aired on ABC.
Tickets for the event are currently available for purchase through AXS.
The nominations were announced on April 14, 2026, and fan voting opened the same day. Voting will close on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:59:59 a.m. PT, except for the categories of social song of the year and tour of the year, which will remain open until the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.
Hootie & the Blowfish are notable among the performers for their AMA history, having won the award for favorite pop/rock new artist 30 years ago in 1996. They will be performing hits that originally earned them that recognition.
The American Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which operates under Penske Media Eldridge, a collaboration between Eldridge Industries and the parent company of Billboard, Penske Media.
As the excitement builds, fans can look forward to a diverse and dynamic lineup of performances during this highly anticipated music awards ceremony.
