AceShowbiz - Peace proves fleeting for the beloved couple of Dutton Ranch, Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton. After their serene exit in the finale of the flagship series from Taylor Sheridan, the spin-off series returns with the pair confronting fresh challenges in South Texas.
Portrayed by Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, Rip and Beth’s story continues as they attempt to build a new life on their ranch. However, the calm is short-lived. The series premiere, launching with two episodes on May 15 on Paramount+ and airing simultaneously at 8 p.m. on Paramount Network, shows that trouble quickly resurfaces, threatening their hard-fought peace.
The newly released full trailer reveals the emergence of dangerous adversaries played by Ed Harris and Annette Bening. Bening’s character appears especially menacing, casting a shadow over the family’s future, including their son Carter, played by Finn Little. The tension escalates around Rip discovering a new “train station,” a grim term borrowed from Yellowstone signifying a place to dispose of enemies’ bodies.
Supporting cast members include Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, and Natalie Alyn Lind, all of whom contribute to the complex dynamics of this Texas-set saga.
The official logline sets the tone: “As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together—far from the ghosts of Yellowstone—they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”
The first season consists of nine episodes, produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, and will be released on a weekly basis following the premiere.
Dutton Ranch is created by executive producer and showrunner Chad Feehan and is based on characters developed by executive producers Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Additional executive producers include David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Keith Cox. Voros directed multiple episodes, including the premiere and finale. Directors Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham also contribute to the series.
This series marks the second spin-off following Yellowstone, coming after Marshals, which follows Beth’s brother Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes. Marshals is currently airing weekly on Sunday nights on CBS and has already been renewed for a second season.
Dutton Ranch aims to expand the Yellowstone universe by delving deeper into the intense and often brutal world of ranching life, where alliances are fragile and danger looms just beneath the surface.
