AceShowbiz - The animated series King of the Hill is returning for its 15th season on Hulu, with a premiere date set for July 20. This marks the second season of the show's revival, following the successful return of season 14 just under a year ago.
Hulu, owned by Disney, will release all 10 episodes of season 15 simultaneously. The storyline centers on Hank and Peggy as they adjust to retirement life on Rainey Street while striving to keep their neighbors from spiraling out of control. Meanwhile, Bobby faces the challenges of maintaining old friendships and managing the pressures of entrepreneurship.
In addition to announcing the premiere date, Hulu unveiled a teaser poster packed with subtle clues about the upcoming season. The poster features familiar characters Bill, Hank, Dale, and Boomhauer standing in their usual alleyway spot. Bill is seen holding a plant, Hank wears his Strickland Propane jacket and holds a leash, Dale carries two caged rats and a beer can magnet, and Boomhauer has three chickens at his feet. Peggy and Kahn are depicted looking over the fence, with Peggy using a portable fan to blow her hair. A worn cow stuffed toy lies on the ground near Bill, and the Texas State Fair mascot, Big Tex, looms in the background, hinting at possible storylines or settings.
The revival of King of the Hill enjoyed an impressive performance during its initial return last year. According to Nielsen, the show logged 1.21 billion minutes of viewing time in its premiere week. Disney reported that season 14 had the best premiere for an adult animated series on Disney+ and Hulu in five years, accumulating 4.4 million views worldwide within its first seven days. This strong reception prompted Hulu to order two additional seasons last October.
The voice cast continues to be led by series co-creator Mike Judge, alongside Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss. Judge and co-creator Greg Daniels serve as executive producers through their Bandera Entertainment company. The production team also includes showrunner Saladin Patterson, along with Michael Rotenberg and Howard Klein from 3 Arts Entertainment, Dustin Davis from Bandera, and Norm Hiscock.
Fans of King of the Hill can look forward to the continuation of this beloved animated series as it explores new chapters in the lives of its iconic characters when season 15 premieres on Hulu this summer.
