AceShowbiz - Violet Grohl is set to release her first full-length album, Be Sweet to Me, on May 29 through Auroura Records/Republic Records. Alongside the announcement, she unveiled a fresh single titled "595," accompanied by a music video directed by Nikki Milan Houston.
Be Sweet to Me was recorded between late 2024 and early 2025 at producer Justin Raisen’s home studio in Los Angeles. The sessions featured a group of musicians inspired by the legendary Wrecking Crew, the famous session players from the 1960s and 1970s. The album’s initial track, "Thum," was released by Grohl in September prior to this announcement.
In a press statement, Grohl shared that her artistic direction draws heavily from alternative music of the late 1980s and early 1990s, citing influences such as the Pixies, Soundgarden, Cocteau Twins, and the Breeders. She emphasized the authenticity and rawness of that era’s music, highlighting the powerful messaging and visuals that have resonated with her since childhood.
Earlier this year, in January, Grohl released another track titled "What's Heaven Without You." The song was composed in the wake of the Altadena fires in Los Angeles and the passing of filmmaker David Lynch. "This song was written in David Lynch’s memory alongside two of my favorite collaborators in the world, Persia Numan and Justin Raisen," she explained. The track emerged as a heartfelt response to the tragedy, created through shared grief and reflection.
Grohl is the eldest daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and has been active in music for several years. In 2021, she released a cover of X’s "Nausea" together with her father, a collaboration they later performed live on Jimmy Kimmel. That performance also featured Krist Novoselic, Dave Lombardo, and Greg Kurstin.
She has frequently performed on tour with the Foo Fighters, including appearances during tribute concerts honoring the late drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. In 2023, she joined her father for a duet on the song "Show Me How."
Be Sweet to Me is now available for pre-order in three vinyl color variants—black, blueberry jam, and ivory—as well as on CD, giving fans multiple options to experience her debut work.
