AceShowbiz - Future is pursuing criminal contempt charges against his ex-girlfriend Brittni Mealy, accusing her of leaking confidential information related to their ongoing legal battle to the media.
The Atlanta rapper recently filed a motion in court seeking sanctions due to alleged violations of court orders by Brittni Mealy. Although much of the motion remains redacted, it clearly points to accusations that she disclosed sensitive details about their case to press outlets.
This legal escalation highlights the continued deterioration of their relationship, which revolves around financial disputes and parenting responsibilities. The central issue involves a $500,000 life insurance policy that Brittni Mealy claims Future was ordered to secure for their 13-year-old son, Prince.
Brittni Mealy filed a lawsuit asserting that Future failed to obtain the policy as mandated by the court. In response, Future is accusing her of breaking confidentiality agreements by publicly discussing their case. According to TMZ, Brittni Mealy also alleged that Future had not seen their son Prince in over sixteen months, adding further strain to their custody and financial arrangements.
In his motion, Future is requesting the judge to hold Brittni Mealy in both civil and criminal contempt. Additionally, he demands that she pay his legal fees incurred while defending himself against what he describes as her public campaign against him.
The legal documents submitted by Brittni Mealy's attorneys included emails from Future’s representatives suggesting they believed she was the source of the leaked lawsuit information. Brittni Mealy has denied these claims, but the relationship appears severely damaged.
This dispute is part of a broader pattern of complex custody and financial conflicts that Future has faced with multiple former partners over recent years. For example, in 2020, another ex, Eliza Seraphin, sued him for $53,000 a month in child support, although a judge ultimately ordered him to pay $3,200 monthly.
Earlier, in 2016, Future was involved in a custody battle with singer Ciara, who initially sought full custody of their son but eventually settled for joint custody awarded by the court.
Today, Future is known to have at least seven children with various mothers, and his ongoing legal battles continue to attract public and media attention.
