AceShowbiz - Ella Langley has achieved a remarkable milestone with the second week performance of her album Dandelion, placing her in exclusive company alongside Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
Dandelion earned 106,000 equivalent album units in the United States during its second week (April 17-23), according to Luminate data. This feat makes Langley one of only three female artists with country albums to surpass 100,000 units in two consecutive weeks.
Langley follows Beyoncé, who reached this mark with Cowboy Carter in 2024, debuting with 407,000 units and maintaining 128,000 in the second week. Taylor Swift has accomplished this multiple times over the last decade. For instance, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) opened with 716,000 units in 2023 and stayed above 100,000 in its second week with 121,000. Likewise, Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021 posted three straight weeks above 100,000 units (605,000, 159,000, and 102,000). Dandelion started with 169,000 units and followed with 106,000.
Swift’s 2021 Fearless (Taylor’s Version) also saw multiple weeks exceeding 100,000 units, although not consecutively. It debuted with 291,000 units, dipped below 100,000 in its second week at No. 1, then returned to the top spot later with 152,000 units.
Before Billboard updated its genre album charts in February 2017 to include streaming alongside sales, only album sales were counted. Under that method, Swift achieved back-to-back 100,000-plus weeks with the original versions of Fearless (seven weeks in 2008-09) and Speak Now (nine weeks in 2010-11). Her 2012 album Red opened with 1.21 million units sold and maintained over 100,000 for its first 10 weeks. Similarly, Carrie Underwood earned consecutive 100,000-plus weeks in 2012 with Blown Away, starting with 267,000 units and following with 120,000.
Dandelion demonstrates impressive staying power in its second week as Langley continues to expand her profile. She performed at the high-profile Stagecoach festival immediately after the tracking week ended, which could fuel ongoing momentum for the album beyond its second consecutive week at No. 1.
Additionally, the album’s track “Choosin’ Texas” remains atop the Hot Country Songs chart for a 22nd week, while the follow-up single “Be Her” holds steady at its No. 2 peak. A new duet with Morgan Wallen, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” was added to Dandelion on April 24 and is expected to impact the charts dated May 9.
These strong metrics highlight Ella Langley’s rising influence within country music and underscore her growing commercial success alongside some of the genre’s biggest names.
