AceShowbiz - Sam Fender and Olivia Dean have reclaimed the top spot on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart dated March 20 with their collaborative track Rein Me In, marking their fourth non-consecutive week at No. 1.
The song originally reached No. 1 on February 20 and has demonstrated remarkable longevity, staying in the top 40 for 35 weeks before climbing to the summit. This resurgence comes after Harry Styles momentarily interrupted their run with his single American Girls, which debuted at No. 1 the previous week following the release of his fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally (March 6).
Rein Me In first appeared on Fender’s Mercury Prize-winning album People Watching, released in February 2025. Four months later, Dean collaborated with the North Shields singer to release a new version of the track, which became Fender’s first chart-topping single and Dean’s second No. 1 hit.
The track is also gaining recognition ahead of potentially winning the song of the year award at The 2026 BRIT Awards, highlighting its impact and popularity throughout the U.K.
This week, Styles’ American Girls dropped two spots to No. 3, while another song from Kiss All the Time, Taste Back, debuted at No. 14. Rising U.S. artist Bella Kay achieved a high new entry, landing at No. 2 with her viral hit iloveitiloveitiloveit.
Other notable chart movements include Stateside by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson, which climbed two places to No. 4. Larsson’s 2016 hit Lush Life rose three spots to No. 8, fueled by renewed viral attention, while her song Midnight Sun reached No. 20, matching its highest position to date.
Noah Kahan also achieved success with his single Porch Light, rising to No. 19. This track is the second single from his upcoming album The Great Divide, set for release on April 24, and marks his sixth top 20 entry in the U.K.
Further down the chart, country sensation Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas gained momentum, climbing two places to a new peak of No. 33. The song recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, underscoring its growing popularity.
As the U.K. music scene continues to evolve, the dynamic between established stars like Fender, Dean, and Styles alongside emerging talents such as Bella Kay and Noah Kahan keeps the charts fresh and competitive.
