AceShowbiz - The alt-pop sensation Ashnikko ignited the stage at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on March 20, delivering an electrifying nearly two-hour performance as part of her ongoing Smoochies world tour.
The show marked the second stop on the tour promoting her sophomore album, Smoochies, released in 2025. It was also her first full headline appearance in L.A. since opening for Billie Eilish on the 2024 Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, creating high anticipation among the local fanbase.
From the moment Ashnikko kicked off with "Working B-h," the energy in the room was palpable. The crowd, many of whom embraced the "trinket girl" aesthetic popularized by the artist, showed up in full force. Fans donned "itty bitty" skirts, thigh-high boots, vibrant blue wigs, and accessorized with an abundance of trinkets. Some took their devotion further by painting their faces white and covering themselves in lip print designs.
One standout moment of the night came when drag queen Kacey Starz, an audience member fully committed to the theme, was invited on stage by Ashnikko. The singer honored Kacey by crowning them L.A.’s official "Smoochie Girl," complete with a sash and crown, a unique ritual that delighted the crowd.
The setlist was a carefully curated mix of 23 songs that balanced new material from Smoochies with fan favorites from earlier releases. Roughly half of the performance featured tracks from her latest album, including hits like "Trinkets" and "Itty Bitty," which had the audience jumping and singing along enthusiastically. The show also included deeper cuts such as the reflective ballad "It Girl," offering an intimate moment between the artist and her fans.
Older songs from her catalog resonated strongly throughout the venue. Tracks like "Manners" from her 2019 EP Hi, It's Me and the lead single "You Make Me Sick" from her debut album Weedkiller were met with deafening cheers. The excitement peaked when Princess Nokia, one of the tour openers, returned to the stage to perform her verse in the viral hit "Slumber Party," resulting in an unforgettable crowd response.
Ashnikko also engaged the audience by checking if longtime fans were present, especially those who had supported her since her 2021 EP Demidevil or earlier, triggering enthusiastic affirmations from the crowd.
The concert encapsulated the vibrant and eclectic spirit of Ashnikko’s music, combining fierce performances, interactive moments, and a strong connection with her fanbase. The Smoochies world tour continues to showcase her dynamic artistry and growing influence in the alt-pop and rap scenes.
