Under this deal, Sher’s production company, Shiny Penny Productions, will develop and produce series content exclusively for MGM TV.

Stacey Sher is a two-time Oscar nominee known for her impactful work in both film and television. Her Shiny Penny Productions will be led creatively by Katie Aquino, who serves as the company’s executive for film and TV projects.

Sloane emphasized Sher’s talent for championing unique voices and delivering memorable storytelling, highlighting her role in shaping iconic projects over the last 30 years. Stacey Sher has earned two Academy Award nominations for producing the best picture contenders Django Unchained and Erin Brockovich. Her producing credits include several Quentin Tarantino films such as Pulp Fiction and The Hateful Eight. She has also produced notable titles like Out of Sight, Get Shorty, the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect, and A24’s Heretic. Her upcoming project is the Amazon MGM adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel Verity, starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson. Additionally, Sher executive produced the Oscar-winning documentary short Period. End of Sentence.
