AceShowbiz - The opening day of the Tecate Pa’l Norte 2026 festival on Friday, March 27, delivered an exciting mix of genres at Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico. Headliners included Tyler, The Creator, Deftones, Interpol, Morat, Myke Towers, and Los Traileros del Norte, offering a diverse lineup spanning rap, alternative rock, metal, pop, electronic, and regional Mexican music.
Adding to the night's excitement, K-pop star Jackson Wang celebrated his 32nd birthday with a dazzling performance featuring flames and a troupe of 40 dancers, captivating the festival crowd.
Thousands of attendees enjoyed a range of performances across eight stages, with artists like Molotov, Maldita Vecindad, Siddartha, Camilo Séptimo, Cuco, La Santa Cecilia, The Blaze (DJ set), Balu Brigada, and Gran Sur showcasing their top hits. A notable surprise was La Arrolladora Banda El Limón, who impressed the audience with their energetic set.
Another highlight was the group Piso 21, which moved the crowd with popular songs including “Pa’ Olvidarme de Ella,” “Te Amo,” and “Me Llamas.” Rising star Paloma Morphy, winner of the 2025 Latin Grammy for Best New Artist, joined forces with Emjay to perform their freshly released duet “Qué Ves en Mí?” live for the first time, adding an exclusive moment to the festival.
The festival also introduced a new stage, “Entre Cheves y Compas,” inaugurated by Majo Aguilar and David Velasco, vocalist of the band Porter, who engaged fans with a live recording session. The Club Social KIA stage was opened by Jordy Medina with his electronic vibe, followed by RØZ, who invited Nsqk to perform “No Veo Bien.”
Looking ahead, the festival’s second day on Saturday, March 28, will feature the legendary Guns N’ Roses launching their 2026 world tour. Other notable acts include Grupo Frontera, Turnstile, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Cypress Hill, The Warning, El Bogueto, Judeline, Simple Plan, Enjambre, and Luck Ra.
Now in its 14th edition, the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival, established by the Apodaca Group and recently partnered with promoter Ocesa, runs from March 27 to 29, continuing its tradition of delivering a vibrant and diverse musical experience.
Tyler, The Creator was the standout artist on day one, delivering a dynamic and high-energy performance that thrilled fans. The 35-year-old rapper and producer marked his return to Monterrey after nearly a decade with a powerful setlist featuring hits like “Big Poe,” “St. Chroma,” “Noid,” “Darling, I,” “Sugar on My Tongue,” and “Are We Still Friends.”
In a memorable moment, Tyler, The Creator honored Mexico by blending his song “Tamale” with a shoutout to the country, projecting the Mexican flag on the stage’s massive screen. This gesture earned him a thunderous ovation from the enthusiastic crowd, cementing his status as the undisputed star of the festival’s opening day.
