AceShowbiz - Shaboozey is preparing to release a new concept album titled The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales on July 31, continuing his musical journey nearly two years after his third album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going.
The upcoming album takes listeners into a vivid Western narrative centered around the character Cherie Lee. In a trailer for the record, a Western town is shown burning, marking the destruction of the second location out of four in a storyline that promises to explore themes of revenge, redemption, and romance.
“There’s a hefty price to pay for revenge,” a voice intones in the trailer, delivered with a thick country drawl. The visual teaser also introduces several characters, hinting at a rich cast woven throughout the album’s songs.
Shaboozey explained that his previous album served as a personal journal, allowing listeners to get to know him on a deeper level, which resonated widely. He said, “That album changed my life. I never expected people to connect with the album and enjoy it the way they did. But now I want to show the world who I am as an artist and storyteller.”
The new project has been years in the making and has evolved through numerous versions. Its songs collectively tell a continuous story, focusing on the Western archetype of revenge through the eyes of Cherie Lee, a protagonist challenging her understanding of the world around her.
The lead single, Born to Die, is set to be released on April 24 and will serve as an introduction to the album’s sound and narrative style.
Shaboozey describes The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales as a project that channels classic Western motifs, exploring timeless themes through music and storytelling, making it a highly anticipated release for his country music audience this summer.
