AceShowbiz - Nadia Farès, the acclaimed French actress known for her role in The Crimson Rivers, passed away on Sunday at the age of 57.
Her daughters revealed that Nadia Farès was discovered unconscious in a swimming pool in Paris the previous week. She had been in a coma following a cardiac arrest.
"It is with immense sadness that we announce the death this Friday of Nadia Farès," said her daughters Cylia and Shana Chasman in a joint statement shared with Agence France-Presse. They added, "France has lost a great artist, but for us, it is above all a mother that we have just lost."
Cylia Chasman posted a heartfelt tribute to her mother on Instagram, expressing the depth of her grief. She wrote, "This is a heartbreak I will never get over. Everyday I wake up and pray this is a nightmare and that you're still with us. I know you fought your very hardest for your babies. Thank you. Thank you for fighting, thank you for giving me life, thank you for every memory, thank you for the laughs, for the cries."
Nadia Farès began her acting career in 1990 with a guest role in the television series Navarro. Her feature film debut came in 1992 with My Wife's Girlfriends. She went on to appear in several films and TV shows, including Tell Me Yes... (1995), The Crimson Rivers (2000), War (2007), Marseille (2016-2018), Luther (2021), and the upcoming Toujours possible (2025).
In 2002, she married producer Steve Chasman. The couple relocated to the United States in 2009, at which point Nadia Farès took a break from acting. Earlier this year, she was set to begin work on her first feature film as both director and screenwriter.
In a January interview with Gala magazine, Nadia Farès expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter, stating, "Through hard work, questioning myself and persistence, I found a great team, we are working together on an action comedy with Studios TF1."
Nadia Farès is survived by her daughters, Cylia and Shana Chasman, who mourn the loss of their mother deeply. Her passing marks the loss of a talented artist and beloved parent.
