AceShowbiz - The Thomas Crown Affair remake, starring Michael B. Jordan, has unveiled its first exciting trailer at CinemaCon 2026 during the Amazon MGM Studios presentation. The preview showcases a captivating cat-and-mouse game filled with flirtation and intrigue between Jordan’s Thomas Crown and an insurance investigator portrayed by Adria Arjona.

The trailer hints at a thrilling dynamic as Crown, a charming and elusive figure, faces off against Arjona’s determined investigator. Adding further tension, Kenneth Branagh appears as the menacing antagonist whose sinister plans threaten Crown’s mission. The narrative centers on Crown’s pursuit of recovering priceless artifacts that have been stolen, misappropriated, or illicitly sold throughout history.

Besides the engaging storyline and star power, the film’s score will be composed by acclaimed musician Jon Batiste, promising a rich auditory experience that complements the film’s stylish tone and suspenseful atmosphere.

The cast of the remake is notable for its ensemble of talented actors, including Adria Arjona, Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Aubrey Plaza, and Ruth Negga. This film marks the second remake of the original 1968 movie starring Steven McQueen and Faye Dunaway. It also follows the 1999 version featuring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.

The original 1968 version received two Academy Award nominations and won Best Original Song for "The Windmills of Your Mind." Michael B. Jordan not only stars in the new iteration but also directs it, building on his success helming Creed III in 2023. Jordan’s rising prominence in Hollywood was further cemented after winning an Academy Award for Best Actor in Sinners. Rumors also suggest his involvement in an upcoming reboot of Miami Vice as Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs.

The journey to bring this remake to life began over ten years ago when Jordan first pitched the project in 2016. However, it was only officially announced in 2024 with Jordan confirmed as director and producer, while Drew Pearce took on the screenplay writing duties.

Initially, rising star Taylor Russell was cast opposite Jordan, but she eventually exited the project due to creative differences. Adria Arjona later joined the cast, taking on the pivotal role of the insurance investigator opposite Jordan.

The Thomas Crown Affair is set to premiere in theaters on March 5, 2027, promising a fresh take on the classic heist thriller with a modern edge and a star-studded lineup.
