AceShowbiz - Jane Carter Schneck, mother of Aaron Carter, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to secure a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in honor of her late son. Aaron Carter passed away in 2022 at the age of 34, and Schneck is seeking to raise $85,000 to fund the project.
The fundraiser, launched on Wednesday, aims to cover the expenses related to the creation, installation, and long-term upkeep of the star. Schneck shared with TMZ that the campaign has the full support of Aaron Carter's brothers, Nick Carter and Angel Carter.
On the GoFundMe page, Schneck wrote, "We are coming together as fans, friends, and supporters to honor Aaron Carter's legacy. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer. If you're unable to give, sharing this campaign means just as much. Let's come together to celebrate Aaron's life, his music, and the lasting mark he left on so many hearts."
Obtaining a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame requires a nomination process overseen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Each year, the committee selects between 24 and 30 recipients based on criteria such as professional achievement, longevity in the industry of at least five years, community contributions, and a commitment to attend the dedication ceremony if chosen. For posthumous honorees, there is a mandatory two-year waiting period following their death.
The deadline for submitting nominations for this year is May 15. Schneck confirmed to TMZ that she plans to submit Aaron Carter's application by that date. The application fee is $275. As of early Thursday morning, the GoFundMe campaign had already raised $186 toward the goal.
