AceShowbiz - American rapper Isaiah Rashad has officially revealed the tracklist and cover art for his upcoming album It's Been Awful, set to release next month. This project is the highly anticipated follow-up to his 2021 album The House is Burning and features 16 tracks, including the recently dropped single "Same Sh!t."

The album includes contributions from a select group of collaborators, such as frequent partner SZA, alternative pop artist Dominic Fike, and rising talent Julian Sintonia. The track "Boy in Red" continues the ongoing collaboration between Isaiah Rashad and SZA, marking their sixth joint effort following songs like "West Savannah," "Ronnie Drake," "Stuck in the Mud," "Pretty Little Birds," and "Score."

It's Been Awful is scheduled for release on May 1 through TDE/Warner Records. The full tracklist is as follows:

In an interview with VICE last year, Isaiah Rashad discussed the inspirations behind his new album. He highlighted OutKast, Prince, and Fousheé as major influences on the project. "The biggest inspiration for me was Fousheé," he shared. He also mentioned repeatedly listening to Prince’s "If I Was Your Girlfriend" for several months.

Isaiah Rashad explained that his creative direction leaned more toward the styles of OutKast’s Stankonia and The Love Below albums. He acknowledged that Top Dawg Entertainment made compromises to prioritize his creativity on this project.

The Tennessee-born artist described the sound of It's Been Awful as a "sultry southern mix mixed with a deep sense of intimacy," blending elements like twangy rock, psychedelia, and tender moments with the powerful bass typically associated with southern hip-hop.
