AceShowbiz - Guy Fieri has publicly dismissed any association with the Tate brothers following a widely circulated photo from UFC 327 that stirred controversy online.
The Food Network personality addressed the matter on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, aiming to clarify misunderstandings after images surfaced showing him greeting Andrew and Tristan Tate at the event over the weekend. The photos and videos depict Fieri warmly shaking hands and exchanging smiles with the controversial figures known as the Tate brothers.
In his statement, Fieri emphasized that he was unaware of who the Tates were when they approached him. "I'm seeing all of your comments about the photo from Saturday's UFC event and all I can say is that I'm devastated," he wrote. "I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that's when the exchange happened. I did not know them or about them before that moment."
He further clarified his position by stating, "I'll never pretend to be a perfect person but let me be crystal clear, I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way."
Legal troubles surround the Tate brothers, as last year they faced multiple serious allegations. According to The New York Times, Andrew Tate is charged with 10 offenses related to accusations from three unnamed women. These charges include rape, assault causing actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for financial gain. Tristan Tate faces 11 charges, which involve rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking, all linked to allegations made by one of the same women.
Both brothers have denied all accusations against them.
At UFC 327, Fieri and the Tate brothers were among numerous celebrities in attendance. Other notable figures at the event included former President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and UFC President Dana White.
The viral photo sparked widespread discussion about celebrity interactions with controversial figures, prompting Fieri to publicly address the situation to avoid any misconceptions regarding his stance or associations.
This incident highlights the complexities public figures face in managing their images amid viral moments and the rapid spread of information on social media platforms.
