AceShowbiz - Billboard and Telemundo have revealed that Gloria Trevi and Lola Indigo will be honored at the upcoming fourth annual Billboard Latin Women in Music event in 2026. This announcement came on Monday, April 13, adding to the lineup of distinguished female Latin artists recognized this year.
The special two-hour program will broadcast live exclusively on Telemundo on April 23 at 9 p.m. ET. It is designed to celebrate Latin female artists who are driving meaningful change and championing inclusion across the music industry, according to a press release. The event will also be available for streaming on Peacock and through the Telemundo app.
The 2026 honorees join previously announced artists such as Becky G, Ivy Queen, Joy, Julieta Venegas, and Young Miko, who are also set to receive recognition during the event.
Gloria Trevi will be the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, a tribute to her enduring influence and significant contributions to music. Her career spans several decades and features defining moments, major accomplishments, and a strong bond with fans across generations. The Mexican icon has performed internationally, maintaining a devoted global following throughout her career.
On the Billboard charts, Trevi has achieved 12 entries on the Hot Latin Songs chart, including memorable hits such as "Cinco Minutos," "Con los Ojos Cerrados," and the emblematic "Pelo Suelto." She has also charted 11 albums on Top Latin Albums, with seven reaching the top 10 and four hitting No. 1: Gloria (2011), El Amor (2015), Inmortal (2016), and Versus (2017), the latter a collaboration with Alejandra Guzmán.
Reflecting on her upcoming award, Trevi said, "At this moment in my life, receiving this recognition fills me with strength and gratitude. This honor confirms to me that everything that comes in life should be met with honest work and positivity. Hate is defeated with love, and music is something I love."
Meanwhile, Lola Indigo will receive the Evolution Award, which honors an artist whose career is marked by continuous growth, creative reinvention, and the courage to remain true to her artistic identity. After gaining fame through the reality show Operación Triunfo, Lola Indigo quickly made a name for herself as an innovative force in Spanish pop music.
She has become one of Spain’s leading artists, known for multiple hit songs, ambitious projects, and performances on some of the country’s largest stages. On the Billboard charts, she earned her first top 10 spot on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 with "High," a collaboration with Maria Becerra and Tini. This track peaked at No. 2 in 2020 and was voted by Billboard readers as the "Best Latin Remix of the Summer" that year.
The press release highlighted that Lola Indigo's journey "exemplifies resilience, risk-taking, and constant evolution, proving that true success lies not only in longevity, but in continuously challenging and elevating her artistry."
Other confirmed honors include Becky G receiving the Global Impact Award, Ivy Queen the Pioneer Award, Joy the Spirit of Change Award, Julieta Venegas the Artistic Excellence Award, and Young Miko the Unstoppable Artist Award. The 2026 Woman of the Year will be announced shortly.
