Cauthen described the moment when Beyoncé and her team began exploring his music. “She started playing my stuff and the family started loving what I do,” he recalled. Soon after, producers from her camp located him while he was in Silverlake, California, arriving in a black Suburban to hear his work firsthand. Their enthusiasm was clear: “Three producers come out and listen to what I'm doing: 'We love that one, we love that one...'”

This interaction led Cauthen and his frequent collaborator, Beau Bedford, to adjust their creative process. “Beau and I pivoted and started churning out songs,” he explained.
