AceShowbiz - Tom Felton is set to continue portraying Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, extending his run through November 1, 2026.

The actor, best known for playing the cunning blond wizard in all eight Harry Potter films, originally joined the Broadway cast in November 2025. His initial engagement was a 19-week limited run scheduled to conclude in March 2026 but was first extended to May 2026. Now, due to a strong surge in ticket sales, producers have confirmed a second extension, allowing fans to see Tom Felton embody the adult version of Draco Malfoy for an even longer period at the Lyric Theatre.

Despite the extension, there will be four brief intervals between May and October 2026 when Tom Felton will be absent from the stage. These breaks are scheduled for May 11-31, August 17-23, September 14-20, and October 12-18, giving the actor some time away from the production.

Since Tom Felton joined the cast, ticket sales for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child have soared. The play grossed an impressive $3.7 million during the week of December 23-28, 2025, setting a new record at the Lyric Theatre for weekly revenue. This sales boost highlights the strong fan interest in seeing the original Draco Malfoy continue to bring the character to life on stage.

Tom Felton performs alongside a talented ensemble including John Skelley, Trish Lindstrom, Emmet Smith, Rachel Christopher, Daniel Fredrick, Janae Hammond, Aidan Close, and Kristen Mariten in the current Broadway cast.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child originally debuted as a two-part production but has since been condensed into a single-part play. It centers on an adult Harry Potter and his son, Albus Potter, who struggles with their complicated family relationship as Albus begins his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At Hogwarts, Albus forms a close friendship with Scorpius Malfoy, Draco’s son, which becomes a key element of the storyline.

The play has been praised for its stunning visual effects and compelling storytelling. In North America, a touring production launched in Chicago in the fall of 2024. This tour has visited nine other cities and is currently performing in St. Louis. Upcoming stops include Minneapolis, Denver, and Costa Mesa, allowing more fans across the continent to experience the magic of the play.

Before returning to the role of Draco Malfoy on Broadway, Tom Felton appeared in several films and TV shows after the final Harry Potter movie released in 2011. His credits include Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Apparition, Risen, Ophelia, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, Altered, Fackham Hall, and The Flash, among others. The current run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child marks his Broadway debut.
