AceShowbiz - White Elephant is set to deliver a thrilling holiday horror experience starring Nick Jonas. Known for his heartwarming performances in previous holiday projects like A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, Nick Jonas is shifting gears to a darker tone this season with this new festive thriller.
The film, directed by Eli Craig, who previously helmed Clown in a Cornfield, revolves around a tense and deadly holiday gathering. White Elephant tells the story of eight friends whose annual gift exchange devolves into a brutal contest of survival. As the stakes rise, trust quickly erodes, spiraling into what the filmmakers describe as “Christmas carnage.”
Nick Jonas stars alongside Kathryn Newton, known for her role in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. The combination of a festive setting with horror elements promises a unique cinematic experience blending holiday cheer with suspense and terror.
In addition to starring, Jonas is also involved behind the scenes as a producer through his company Powered By Jonas. While details about the full cast or release date have not yet been disclosed, anticipation is building for this unconventional holiday film.
This announcement follows Jonas’ recent premiere of his musical dramedy Power Ballad at SXSW earlier this year. In that film, he stars opposite Paul Rudd as part of an unlikely songwriting duo rediscovering their passion for music. Directed by John Carney, the film is scheduled for release by Lionsgate on June 5.
The coming year looks especially busy for Nick Jonas, with multiple high-profile projects lined up. He is set to co-star in the latest installment of the Jumanji franchise alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart, a major Columbia Pictures release.
Additionally, Jonas will headline the thriller Bodyman, directed by Gary Fleder, known for his work on Reacher. The film centers on a seasoned bodyguard who inherits a private military company after the death of his eccentric billionaire employer, triggering a violent family conflict. Fleder praised the project as a “smart, lean, high-voltage action thriller” that will showcase Jonas’ versatility, highlighting his physicality, emotional depth, and intensity.
Jonas also expressed excitement about reuniting with director Fleder and collaborator Byron Balasco, emphasizing the special nature of the project. Like White Elephant, Bodyman will be produced by Powered By Jonas.
On the music front, Nick Jonas released his first solo album in five years, Sunday Best, earlier this February, marking a significant return to his musical roots.
With a diverse slate of films and music releases, Nick Jonas is poised for a dynamic and influential year ahead. Fans can look forward to seeing his range expand from heartfelt holiday stories to chilling thrillers and high-stakes action dramas.
